Dear Friends and Supporters,

For over 58 years, the Kiwanis Club of Tampa has sponsored one of our most beloved fundraisers – “The Box BBQ Chicken Sandwich Meal” for the benefit of many charitable organizations in our area. For the past few years, we have been partnering with Metropolitan Ministries for greater community outreach. This collaboration brought our event to the next level where we made an even greater impact on meeting our community’s needs. The 2026 Chicken Barbecue Event will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, with pickup between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

We need your support to continue this very worthwhile tradition and we offer you several ways to help!

• Become a Sponsor by advertising your company in our box meals.
• Donate directly to our 501c3 Foundation, this will support kids all year long
• Purchasing one or more The Box Chicken Sandwich Meals for your family
• Purchase 10 + for delivery to your office
• Purchase 5+ meals and donate to your choice of 4 food banks

Advertising Sponsorship:

You or your company can contribute directly to the Tampa Kiwanis Foundation (a 501c3) to increase the reach of the BBQ dollars we earn. Last year, we distributed more than 5,000 meals in Tampa and the surrounding areas. This year we have created 3 different sponsorship levels; Presenting, Platinum and Gold. Please see the sponsorship form for full details of what is available at each level.

 Foundation Donations:

You or your company can write off to IRS if you contribute directly to the Tampa Kiwanis Foundation (a 501c3) to increase the reach of the dollars we earned and we will put more back into the community with your donation. This will help the community all year long for kids Christmas Party, Scholarships, and other community service events.

Purchase BBQ Meals, 10+ Delivery Meals or Donation Meals:

Each BBQ Chicken Sandwich Box meal ticket is $13.00. With each ticket, you will receive a meal including Chicken Club sandwich with BBQ sauce on the side, edamame side salad, and a fresh baked cookie. Many businesses buy BBQ meals for their employees. We offer free delivery for 10 or more meals. Or you can donate your meals to Metropolitan Ministries and be assured that your meal will feed a person in need that day.

Where does the money go?

Each year, the Tampa Kiwanis Foundation gives more than $140,000 back to our local community in grants to local charities, we build ramps for the disabled, reading rooms for children, support senior centers of Hillsborough County, local service leadership programs at University of South Florida, 11 local high schools, seven elementary schools, among other great organizations. The Kiwanis Club of Tampa hosts an annual Children’s Christmas Party for approximately 150 of Hillsborough County’s most vulnerable children. In addition, we sponsor two “back to school” immunization events serving more than 500 children and award several college scholarships to local students.

It is people like you that make it happen and I hope you will join us this year.

Thank you for your kindness and support,

Sam Orchard
