Tampa, Fla. – On your mark, get set, go! Join in the fun by adopting a duck to participate in the Incredible Duck Race on Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 10 am to 1 pm at Curtis Hixon Park. Hosted every year by the Tampa Kiwanis Club, the race includes 10,000+ rubber ducks that are released into a duck lane in the Hillsborough River then corralled by Tampa Kiwanis volunteers.

The first rubber duck to cross the finish line will win $5,000 for whoever adopted that lucky duck. The second-place duck wins $1,000 and third place duck wins $500. Take a chance and adopt a duck!

“This family-friendly event features activities for children, games, food trucks, music, Miss Lucky the Ducky mascot and entertainment leading up to the big race,” explains Amanda Malinowski, Kiwanis Club of Tampa Duck Race Chairperson and Founder. “Attendance is free and we are anticipating 1000+ participants. Our entire Kiwanis Club membership is behind this fun & creative fundraiser.”

The Incredible Duck Race is presented by title sponsor SouthState Bank and various other sponsors. To purchase your lucky duck, register online at TampaDuckRace.com or contact a Kiwanis Club of Tampa member. The ducks may be purchased by the public for $5 per duck or a quack pack of five ducks for $20.

The Kiwanis Club of Tampa is celebrating 104 years of helping children in the community. Locally they build ramps for the disabled, hold immunization events, purchase holiday gifts for children in need, provide scholarships, work with leadership clubs in schools at the middle school, high school, and college level, and created the Tampa Kiwanis StoryWalk at Al Lopez Park combining literacy with exercise. Additionally, the Tampa Kiwanis Foundation provides grants to local non-profit organizations.
